My Benjamin.....

We went out garage sale~ing recently, just me, him and Chloe.
I stopped and got them each a Polar Pop from our nearby gas station.
When we got back in the car, I told them that I hope that when they are older and I am gone, I hope this is one of the things that they remember....going garage sale~ing with Mom.

So, today, we hit a garage sale and he was looking at a box with a bunch of book marks in it.
They were three for a dollar.
He got one for his Dad and one for *himself* or so I thought.  And then Isaac wanted one, so I just put that in with his things.
When we got home, I went to fix lunch and he kept asking me if I was going to check my computer.
I thought this was odd.
About half an hour later, I came to my computer and found a note from Ben...
and a bookmark with a "Polar bear" on it.
The note said:  *Get out your tissues ladies*

"Dear Mom,
Remember when we bought polar pops and we went garage sale~ing?  That was fun.  I'll always remember it even when I am old.  I love you Mommy."

I'm blubbering again.
Help us.
And Benny boo, I will always remember it too.  Love, Mommy.

After her baaath....

Lil' Miss had a relaxing baaath *said in my best English accent* the other morning.
She was so relaxed after her warm bath...
So I put on her robe and set her on my pillows...
And off she went to laa laa land...
I wub her so much.

Other news of the day..
I'm overwhelmed!
My house has gone to pot!
Literally.
So much to do and so little time to do it.
But, I will keep plugging along.
And hopefully make a lot of trips to Goodwill.
We have accumulated a lot of junk.
J-U-N-K!
Oh Flylady, where are you?

Daddy's nap.

My husband wakes up at 4 am most mornings to go to work.
Sometimes when he comes home, he likes to take a 30 minute siesta.
So very often, this is the out come.

Tweedle dee and Tweedle dum get a hold of the camera and get some lovely ideas going thru their little minds....

Isaac (Tweedle dee) is apparently standing on something to get a better angle of his poor unassuming father.  While Titus {whose blonde head has told on him} (Tweedle dum) makes faces using his hands.

My poor husband just wants a nap...just a few minutes of respite.

"Daddy will never know."
"He can't see us!"
"Bwahahaha!"

And last but not least, the close up!

And lest you start feeling sorry for the poor chap, I'd like to direct your attention here where I, once upon a time, tried to take a nap on the couch...
Good day!

Bible Study on Proverbs...

Our Pastor started a Bible study on Proverbs 2 weeks ago in our Sunday School class.
Isn't it funny how you think that you've read Proverbs a million times and surely there isn't anything else to learn from that book!?!
Pastor got down to Chapter 1 verse 8 and 9.
I was kinda half way listening trying to get Annaleah to sleep in my arms.
Our Chloe is really into the material side of beauty.
She is pretty sure that make up and clothes and nail polish make a person pretty.
They don't.
Haven't ever.
If that were true, what must my husband have thought of me while I laid in a hospital bed for 5 days without showering?  No make up...I was unable to fix my hair.  I laid there and hoped that I would live.
So, I know that isn't pure beauty, real beauty.
But how to relate this to a 8 year old girl?
Well, duh!  It's in the Bible, of course.

My son, HEAR the instruction of thy father, and FORSAKE NOT the law of thy mother: for they shall be an ornament of grace unto they head, and chains about thy neck.

True beauty comes from doing what God asked us to do...OBEY.  Obey our parents.  Obey authority.  Obey God.

It's so simple it eludes us sometimes.

Isn't it good to know that we have a book that does indeed have ALL the answers to life's questions?
